Windows XP SP2

Download Windows XP SP2 save it in a folder in your PC.

Example: C:\sp2

Copy the entire contents of the Windows XP CD to your PC into a folder called XPCD.

Example: C:\xpcd

Open the comment prompt (Start | run | cmd ) and go to the folder where the SP2 file is and type:

WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe -x

The files will extract to a folder where you choose - use c:\sp2

After the files are extracted, go to the SP2 UPDATE folder ( type in: cd \i386\update )

Type in the following: update /s:c:\xpcd

The files will 'integrate' itself into the Windows XP CD that you copied on your PC - c:\xpcd

 

To create a bootable CD:

Download the BOOT LOADER

Start Nero Burning ROM choose CD-ROM (Boot) in the New Compilation window.

On the Boot tab, select Image file under Source of boot image data, and browse to the location of the xpboot.bin file.

Also enable Expert Settings, choosing No Emulation, and changing the Number of loaded sectors to 4 - or the CD will NOT boot!

Configure the LABEL tab to match what you have below:

·         Windows XP Professional: WXPCCP_EN

·         Windows XP Home: WXHCCP_EN

·         Windows XP Professional OEM: WXPOEM_EN

·         Windows XP Home OEM: WXHOEM_EN

Select and drag all the files that are in c:\xpcd into Nero and burn the CD!

Enjoy your bootable Windows XP SP2 CD!
